There are times, I admit, that this pastor causes me to lift an eyebrow
now and then; even so, I did learn quite a bit from this book. It has made me realize my dire need to learn God's promises in order to come against attacks from the enemy.
We must all remember that all spiritual attacks begin on the mind. Let's keep Jesus in our hearts, and God's word on our lips in order to guard that spiritual doorway. There is no other way to win the spiritual battle raging around us.

This is another example of the extremes (if not actual heresies)to which those in the "positive confession" camp have gone. Capp's believes that everyone has a guardian angel and they are activated by what we say. If we speak positive things (in line with the word of God of course) the angels spring into action. If we speake negatively they are virtually powerless to help. One of Capp's "insights" goes something like this: If a parent prays 'Lord watch over my child', but then turns to the child and says, 'If you play in the steet, you will get run over' they may have doomed their child. Their confused angel,accordingly, may just sit there and watch as the child runs in front of a car. This is but one of the many absurdities expoused by Capp's.
Finally, after finishing this book I threw it right in the trash. Capp's, like all false teachers, mixes biblical truths with his own distorted interpretations. Apparently, after reading the previous reviews, there are some who would disagree with me.

I love this book! 'Angels' When my Mother passed away, I wondered how I would go on with my life without her, never being able to call her on the phone, go to her home to visit etc...It was completely unexpected. She left behind 4 children and a husband dieing of prostate cancer. We really didnt have time to morn over her death due to the fact that we had to take care of or Dad. After going through my mothers things (a very hard thing to do)I discovered all of her spiritual books and scriptures she had written, my dad had given me most of her books, in her collection was the book Angels. I took everything home and not once opened any of the books.My father was placed in a nursing home at the VA hospital on December 1st and passed Janurary 21. The last week of his life was the first time I ever heard him say I love you. He was never a spiritual man but did believe and loved the lord, he asked for prayer and forgiveness, I asked him if he accepted Jesus as his lord and savior and he said yes, from there I knew he was going to heaven. Right before he died a nurse came in to check on him, she was the same nurse that cared for him through out the night. We had a very good talk about Angels. She was pregnant and spoke about a daughter she lost whom had cancer, I mentioned to her that she is now an Angel, that was when she told me her thoughts on Angels, they were way different from mine. She was a very soft spoken, comfortable person to be around. When she entered the room she woke me, is was dark but I could see her in the dark, I jumped up and felt my Dads wrist for a paulse, it was faint, but I felt his last one, then I put my hand up to his nose to see if he was still breathing, thats when I felt his last breath, I asked her, is he? She said yes, are you ok?
All I remember is trying to stay calm enough to call my brothers and sister. Later that day I had mentioned to several people the nurse Nancy that was much comfort to me, to my suprise there was no such pregnant nurse by the name of Nancy on that floor, no one knew who I was talking about, all I can grasp is that she was one of my Angels there to comfort me, and that she was. A few months later I opened this book about Angels that belonged to my mother, I couldnt believe what I was reading, everything that I experienced through out my fathers death, everything that he did, said, behaved, was in that book, it gave me chills, good chills!
I have never been touched by a book or anything else as I was with this book, it may not do for others what it did for me, but I am here to tell you, its the best book I have ever read!
I tell everyone about it and I bought 6 more to pass out to people who lost a loved ones, and I will continue to but more. I thank Charles Capps for this book, I feel like it was written for me. It truely is a special gift to have!

This is one of the most straight-forward and profound messages, not only regarding exactly what angles do in our lives, but (and most importantly)what the power of our words holds. In many of Capps' book reviews, those denouncing his message need to go back to their Bible concordances and read EVERY SINGLE SCRIPTURE on the "tongue", the "mouth","words" and any other related terms. Even Jesus said that we are sactified or condemned by our words (and he wasn't just talking about going to Heaven or hell) We Christians often do not take hold of the power that our words release or the fact that God has given us free will to choose what we say and follow. Going WAY past a "name-it-and-claim-it" book, this book, along with Capps' others, really explain the root of the power and authority of what we say. What we speak and declare is what releases our faith (which isn't very powerful if kept shut up)and fuels it to take hold and manifest in our lives. Read this book! It's simple, easy to understand, humerous, warm, and revealing. This book is right on!
