This is a very good book on travel destinations within my home state. It covers each region, from the Arrowhead, though the Iron Range, into farmlands, lake country, the metro area and south to the hardwood forests and prairies. Having said that, it is also getting a bit dated so make sure you verify dates or hours of operation, or even if some of the sites listed are still open.
A book like this can help plan a trip and then find the interesting things to do along the route. Given the price of gasoline in 2008 this book is more relevant to Minnesotans or our nearby neighbors, but it is well presented and can give a lot of useful information to the reader/traveler.

A fun book and a great travel resource guide.

This is my second book by this author. The first was wisconsin. Each book has a comprehensive guide to unique places to stay and visit within each state. It's a great book to just keep on the shelf for reference or to plan a vacation.
